Why Moss Beach pet parents choose at-home care
Moss Beach is small — a community of about 3,200 people roughly 20 miles south of San Francisco — and it is built around the tide pools. The Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is the most visited park in all of San Mateo County, and a lot of Moss Beach dogs walk it every week.

Where Moss Beach dogs actually spend their time
Knowing where a dog walks tells us what we will find in the coat before we open the van.
- Fitzgerald Marine Reserve
- the county's most visited park; dogs are welcome on the bluff-top trails on leash, through a century-old cypress grove
- Pillar Point
- the southern end of the reserve's three-mile stretch of protected shoreline
What that means for your dog’s coat
Tide-pool walks are wet walks. Salt water dries stiff and dulls a coat, and it leaves the skin itchy long after the dog looks dry. A proper rinse and a full dry does more for a coastside dog than any product does — and it is the part that is hardest to do well in a home bathtub.
