One of the best things about a mobile oral care and grooming visit is how little prep it takes. Because there’s no sedation, your dog stays awake the whole time — and there’s very little to do beforehand. Here’s a simple checklist for a calm, easy visit.
Before the visit
- No fasting needed. Because there’s no sedation, your dog can eat and drink normally.
- A short walk can burn off nervous energy and help your dog settle.
- Jot down health notes — medications, conditions, or anything worth sharing with us (and with your veterinarian for anything medical).
Set the scene
- Pick a calm, quiet room with room for us to work.
- Have treats ready — they’re great for rewarding calm behavior.
- Keep fresh water available.
- Reduce distractions — other excited pets or kids can make things harder.
During the visit
Your dog stays awake the whole time. We gently brush the teeth with pet-safe toothpaste, gauze and floss, and groom — keeping everything low-stress. There’s no sedation and nothing invasive. Most visits are relaxed and unhurried, and you’re welcome to stay nearby — many dogs are calmer with their person in sight.
A quick note: this is cosmetic, at-home care, not a veterinary service. We brush and groom — we don’t perform veterinary procedures or treat disease. Anything medical is a job for your veterinarian, and we’ll happily point you their way.
Keep the mood relaxed
Dogs read our energy. If you’re calm and upbeat, your dog is more likely to be too. There’s no need to make a big deal of it — treat it like a normal, pleasant part of the day.
After the visit
There’s no recovery period — because there’s no sedation, your dog can get right back to normal. We’ll leave you with simple tips to keep up a gentle brushing routine until next time.
That’s it — no fuss, no fasting, no clinic. Book an oral care & grooming visit or see how it works across the Bay Area.
